Every love story is unique, and I want to tell yours in a way that is authentic to who you are as a couple. During your wedding I will be a photojournalist, a fine-art photographer and a portrait photographer. In the end, I want to create images that blow you away. Photos that show just how beautiful the day was!
My biggest goal is to create images that are deep enough to hold the memories of your day. A day that was everything you wanted it to be! You will also have someone you can come back to for photography that you know will cater everything to your needs while capturing beautiful work.
It is important to me to get to know you so I can give you the best service and photography.

DETAILS
BOOKING | Booking starts with a custom online proposal that makes it easy to: review what is included, sign the contract, and make your first payment. Your proposal is created based on the collection you choose, any additional items, and the amount of payments you prefer (with final payment due two weeks before your wedding). Once the contract is signed and the first payment is made, we're official!
DIGITALS | We deliver 75-100 final images per hour of coverage, first through a downloadable gallery. Once you've approved your images, we'll send them to you on a wooden USB with a matching box. Share, print, and swoon over them as much as you like - they are all yours!
COVERAGE |
If you're unsure how much coverage you'll need, start by thinking about the moments you want photographed.
Our 10-hour collection is perfect for couples getting married during the fall and winter months, when earlier sunsets mean photography needs to begin sooner. It allows plenty of time to capture your ceremony, family portraits, wedding party, and couple portraits before the sun goes down. It gives enough time for everything from getting ready through your grand exit at the end of the night. (Ask us why we recommend doing a first look during the fall and winter as well!)
Our 7-hour collection begins as you're getting into your dress and continues through dinner and about an hour of dancing, capturing the most meaningful moments of your celebration.
Our 5-hour collection is ideal for couples who want coverage of their ceremony, family portraits, couple portraits, and the beginning of their reception through dinner.
For elopements, the focus is simply the two of you. Coverage includes your ceremony, a few family portraits if loved ones are present, and a relaxed portrait session to celebrate your first moments together as newlyweds.
SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER | Some of our collections include a second photographer. It's a great way to get another perspective and capture candid moments when guests are focused on the lead photographer.
Your second photographer will always be another experienced professional photographer from the Outer Banks. Most often, it's Audra—Katie's best friend and business partner at 12th Street Portraits. They've been photographing together since 2010. Katie and Audra will have you laughing and feeling comfortable while keeping the day lighthearted and enjoyable.
SESSIONS | We love photographing engagement sessions with our KDP couples! It's a great way to get to know you two before your wedding day. It will also help you feel at ease with what you can expect from us. We recommend booking your session at least two months in advance, so let us know as soon as you plan on coming into town!
SHOOTING STYLE | Katie has been capturing weddings for over 15 years, blending a documentary approach with a fine art eye. Katie is drawn to light, movement, color, emotion, and fun. At KDP, we love being part of your day - sometimes front and center for family photos, sometimes quietly in the background so you can focus on the moments that matter most (like your partner's face during your first dance, not ours!). We love making you laugh, shedding a few happy tears behind the camera, and soaking in all the love while being so happy for you. We hope every photo tells the story of your day and reminds you that the people you love are what's most important in life.
SESSIONS | We love engagement sessions -they're always fun, full of laughter, and a great way to get to know each other. During your session Katie will give you tips for how to naturally look your best and feel comfortable in front of the camera. It will help your wedding-day photography go that much smoother.

How does the wedding album process work?
There's something incredibly special about holding the story of your wedding day in your hands! Thoughtfully designed and handcrafted, your album transforms your favorite moments into a timeless heirloom—one you'll return to for decades and one that can be passed down for generations.
Once your gallery is delivered, you'll choose your favorite images for the album. From there, I'll design a custom layout that tells the story of your day and send you a proof to review online. We'll refine the design together until it's exactly how you envision it. Once the layout is finalized, you'll choose the finishing touches, including your cover material and color.
If your wedding collection doesn't include an album, you can easily add one directly from your online gallery.
Do you do destination weddings?
Absolutely! Many of my couples first meet me during an engagement session while they're vacationing in the Outer Banks. We instantly click, and before long I'm traveling to their hometown to capture their wedding day.
Because my approach is guided by beautiful light and genuine moments, I'm completely comfortable photographing in places I've never visited before. Every location has something unique to offer, and I'm used to finding the best light and creating images that feel natural and authentic wherever we are.

What is your pricing for a destination wedding?
The destination wedding collection is $6,000 and is designed to tell the complete story of your wedding weekend.
It includes full wedding day coverage, a handcrafted heirloom album, and photography for one additional celebration—whether that's your rehearsal dinner, welcome party, after-party, or next-day brunch. Rather than focusing on a single day, I document the entire experience, preserving the people, moments, and memories that make your wedding weekend unforgettable.
