Once Chelsea and Jim were engaged, they knew they wanted to get married on the Outer Banks. They set their date and booked the Grande Ritz Palm in Duck for their wedding venue. Everything was set! They booked all their vendors and were getting everything prepared to have the best day ever. But then there was a problem...COVID happened!!
It was Spring 2020 and the bridge to the Outer Banks was closed. Dare County decided not to let visitors in for fear of spreading the virus to our little community.
Chelsea and Jim didn't know what to do. You can't have an Outer Banks wedding if you can't get to the OBX! They ended up moving their date to September and I was so happy that I was free on that day to move with them!
The Grande Ritz Palm was perfect for their wedding. The ceremony and reception were outside, so everything felt safe. It really was the perfect Outer Banks wedding venue combination with a sunset sound beach ceremony and backyard reception. Even though I was wearing a mask while photographing their wedding, we had gotten to know each other before their wedding day. So they knew me enough to know that I was all smiles! These two and their families are my kind of people! So funny and I could tell that they value their personal relationships like I do. Nothing is more important to me than the people in my life!
They picked the perfect day because the weather was amazing and their reception was so much fun! I loved watching everyone celebrate. Everyone was dancing and Coastal DJ was rockin the house. I felt a little jealous when everyone started jumping in the pool. I wanted to go too!
